Mega Bros. by Imson Mega Bros. by Imson
I finally got this one out of the way.

I started sketching this the second Nintendo's E3 presentation was over, and thought I would have it done on the day. Then I got the brilliant idea of doing the thing with a realistic shading, which, given the reflective surfaces and fur, became a pretty formidable undertaking. Got it done though.

E3 wasn't that spectactular for me this year, but I always want to give credit to the aspects I find fun, regardless of it's context. So seeing Smash Brother's retake on Megaman was really fun, and I laughed way too hard at Mario's cat suit to not include it. Initially, Megaman and Mario were supposed to be pointing at the viewer donning the buster and a fireball. But the Metal blade scene was too tempting not to replicate, and the claws of the cat suit mirrored the blade pretty well, so there it is.

I'll be doing another painting very soon, so hopefully I'll have that up sooner than I did with this guy.

Enjoy!

like the sucker I am (always demanding more), I hope they add Sparkster and the Belmont from the first castlevania with the poster look.
nice drawing btw

It would be really fun, as both provide nice variation and different play mechanics. However, I don't see that happening. Sparkster has his shot at a revival, and it recieved poor sales (at the very least. Sales that were too poor to justify a sequel.) Few people also know Sparkster across platforms, so it would be a shot in the dark.

The Belmont clan might be possible though, though it would probably be the new protagonists of the remakes to at as promotional fuel for Konami. In fact, even though most people would want to see Simon Belmont, their creator seems to have a thing for Trevor, so even if they got to that point, it's unsure.

Unsure who I would pick myself. Megaman was kind of the top of the list, and I'm sure they'll include Protoman as a mirror character or a color swap. Maybe A colorswap Bass. But aside from that... They have options like Little Mac, they're hinting at Balloon Fight. Eh. I'm just babbling now.

hehe, no worries. I would be surprised if they where added, but it's not like I'll be sad if they don't.
I'm pretty sure I'll play the game anyways since it's probably fun like hell.

a thought that suddenly hit me as I was writing this is that if you're lucky, and Nintendo doesn't dig it's own tench too deep, there might be a super smash bros game int he future with Owlboy in it. heahea

I didn't watch the presentation but I'm really happy with the list of new games. You did an amazing job on the shading! I especially like Mario's cat suit (which really is funny).

The fur on the suit really took too much time. Mostly because the official artwork has this sort of in-between fake teddybear fur thing going. Still. Didn't turn out half bad.

My demands for games are pretty high, so I wasn't too impressed this year. But I appretiate it when people do something fun or bizarre. Even if Nintendo didn't blow me away completely, I still found it enjoyable. Considerably more so than their competition at least.

(Still wish they had shown the new Zelda though...)

I sure wish they'd shown the new Zelda, but I love Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong and so on, so I'm loving the announced games :> I don't mind waiting for the new Zelda. I hope they take alll the time they need to develop it.
