Need a hand?

Technically I shouldn't be uploading something right now. I've been so busy working on Owlboy for a while that I haven't had the time to create something random (as some people have noted in the comments already.) However, I just arrived in Texas to go at the final strech of development, and I've had a week trying to relax a little before the entire team sets up the makeshift office. So despite everything, I decided I needed to paint something random. This is the result.

Now I will say that I have no idea who all these characters are. I found a shape and a style and just went with it. It felt like a scene out of a cartoon in composition, so I made it to look like one (after all, I've always kind of wanted to make a cartoon.)

Like always, I've interpreted a story from this picture, but it's more something of an afterthought after looking at it after it was finished. I usually find that my most enjoyable pictures are the ones people can sit and interpret. Trying to guess what the context is. The only thing I know is that I've had a think for drawing masks lately, so I guess that's a partial starting point.

I don't feel this is anything special, but it was a fun warmup (though admittedly consumed a bit too much time.) I'm curious what you guys think is going on here.
