Like I mentioned last time, my previous picture was actually going to be very different than what it ended up as, so I decided to try what I actually intended from the start: Strong, sectioned colours spread across the spectrum.
I didn't calculate the composition carefully like I planned though. Rather, I splattered general shapes everywhere and then added more and more detail. I was actually considering submitting this a lot earlier. Looking back at it, I have no idea what I was thinking...
I actually achieved something I aimed at here. Looks pretty much like what I was aiming for. It's not a diffecult thing to paint by all means, but it's something I've always wanted to try, but never did. So... now I have. Hurrah!
Is it just me, or is this giving off an old Sierra Quest vibe for some reason? ... I'll have to look more into that. Anyway.
eee all the clear-cut sections and various colors make this like eye candy 8D I love the range of cool colors at the top
I haven't played many Sierra games, but now I can see this as an area in Quest For Glory. hard to see what's hiding in a swamp, but he sure could see you

Incredibly cool... your colour experiments definitely yield some nice results.
I see the Sierra vibe you speak of. The colours are very similar to the classic EGA palette, and the setting is reminiscent of a Space Quest game I played. Definitely not a bad thing.
You're probably thinking of Space Quest 2. I realised it after posting it here. Most of the game was about rummaging around on a swamp planet much like this.
It's strange. The old Quest games got their look from hardware restrictions, but their actual style looks more like something out of a Hanna Barbera cartoon. I should do an experiment with this stuff...
The old PC games went for some pretty strong colours during the start, then gradually shifted towards more neutral colours as the palettes expanded, so that might explain the link.
Just coincidence that I thought of that simmilarity really.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

I never played Quest for Glory, but it does seem to fit the description.
